First day of Intro to Instructional Tech

Welcome to my first blog post...ever.

This first blog post coincides with my first Instructional Tech class ever too, fantastic.  To be completely honest, I thought this was going to be somewhat of a repetitious course. One that touches on programs like Power Point; things that we (better yet I) know. Then once in class I'm saying to myself "Wimba? Whoba??? Web Tools 2.0? You mean Netscape Browser 2.0 from 1995? Hmmm.


 

Needless to say I should learn a lot from this course and it will without a doubt be applicable in the current and future military as presentations and training are conducted to an ever expanding audience. I'll begin reviewing Wimba and other tools to become familiar as soon as possible.

    Mike,
    You'll love Wimba for the sole fact that you'll be at home, eating dinner and still be able to interact and have class. I have had online courses before during undergrad where it was basically read the book, take a quiz, get your A. Wimba/Elluminate/etc. make the online experience interactice and I took away so much from my last class with Amy. :)

    I bet you will have so much fun in this course. Teachers use way more than PowerPoint to keep their students engaged these days. Erin, I look forward to having dinner while at class, I am worried about my kids, dogs and husband getting in my way though. The other online course were asynchronous, everyone had a different schedule and we were never on in the Wimba way.

    HA! Mike that was hilarious! I am sure that once this class is completed you'll be able to teach Wimba to someone else. We are sure to have an exciting learning experience!

    I love your cartoon! It all seems overwhelming at first but hang in there & you'll be fine. Amy is a great instructor & always willing to spend extra time helping with any questions!
