Hello to all my fans (basically myself).

We rounded our second class yesterday; I was among four others in the actual class room and was quite shocked at that. I couldn't believe how many elected to stay at home that was a first for me. It was a dreaded thought for me at first to try to stay home and go to class hahahah. Not anymore, after my first hands on wimba went from difficult in my mind to piece of cake

This program is really cool in fact and I hope to progress in learning it throughout the semester. I foresee schools bringing this program closer to other majors and students when ultimately many classes will offer a hybrid type of program. I don't know why this isn't used in any of the business online courses now.

  1. Hey Mike, I just read your profile and completely "laughed out loud". I don't know why I had so much trouble with getting into Wimba because I've used it for a previous class. Nevertheless, I was glad to have finally entered the class for discussion.

I love the fact that we are given the option to physically be in class or to be in class via my comfortable bed.

I am definitely looking forward not only to a great learning experience but somehow incorporating Instructional Technology into my future career endeavors.

  2. Wimba will get easier to use as the course goes on. Once you share your first screen, you'll be a pro! I like wimba so much better for the obvious reasons, but I also feel like we get more out of it. Other than the few second lag time or occasional booting off, it's great!

  3. I think Wimba is a good tool to get your feet wet as far as virtual tools. From now on more and more tools like Wimba will be introduced to you, especially if you decide to get involved with technology. So exposing yourself to will be very useful for your future.

  4. LOVE the Leopard Gecko! I was also surprised at how many elected to stay at home, they must have had the Wimba experience before. I will give it another class or so before I elect to stay home and let my family bug me while I try to be in class. Your Gecko wouldn't scratch at the door the way my three Mini-Schnauzers would. I am excited to stay home in my Jamms, any hints anyone has to for keeping family and pets out would be appreciated. It also seems that when I am writing on the computer it is not viewed as real work to them, even when I bring home the bacon!

  5. I loved the picture you chose, how perfect!! You will LOVE Wimba once you get the hang of it & don't worry...even us "seasoned pros" have the occasional computer glitches!

MB - as far as keeping family members & pets out of the room...I have 3 words for you...LOCK THE DOOR!!! Good luck!
